Time Flies…
Things have been going well as of late, I hope all of you were fortunate like we were to survive the holiday season.
My daughter thought Christmas continued for days after December 25th since she was receiving gifts from others from family & friends for days after the sun set on Christmas. Finally by New Years she stopped getting gifts and understood that it was supposed to have ended. I wouldn’t say she was angry, but let’s just say she was far from amused that the presents were going to cease. Camryn managed to rack up everything from her own personal cleaning cart to an outdoor house for her to play with. Thanks to all family & friends for their generosity, Leslie & I would have loved to send Thank You’s but we honestly got so caught up we did not jot down where each gift came from this year.
On another note, Leslie & I are behind (of course) on our schedule to have things ready for the baby. We did a great job initially and managed to get Camryn in the other room, sleeping in a ‘big-girl’ bed, which was most important so now at 2/3 months the other baby can settle into the nursery and Camryn doesn’t feel like she was pushed out of her room. We still have to paint her room and get a few other pieces of furniature but for now it’s serving it’s purpose. I’m all set to re-organize our closets this weekend, which should be fun seeing as to how my wife and I have wayyy too many clothes and are in dire need to get rid of more than our fair share of clothes that do not fit anymore. We still haven’t picked a name for the baby, although we have narrowed the names down to a few and are hoping that by the time Leslie is pushing we’ll have something set in stone. The sex of the baby is still unknown, although some say we found out and are not telling them. From the ultrasounds, the baby looks like a boy to me, but all we really care about is ten fingers/ten toes and healthy!
I can’t believe that it is already January 13th, this month is just flying by and before I know it the new baby will be here soon.
New Ultrasounds
More Ultrasounds from today have been put up on the Baby page.
Baby Ultrasounds
I’ve finally gotten around to scanning all of the Ultrasound pictures for the new baby, and created a page here and there is also a clickable bookmark near the top of the page. For those of you who cannot view flash galleries (cough Janie cough) you can goto my Flickr page by clicking here. More to follow as we are now closing in on the due date!!
A Baby is Born!

Wow… ok let me get that out again… WOW!!
So for months now I’ve been trying to think of what I’d write the day the baby was born. Here I am, three days later and I still do not know what to write. I wanted to just get the particulars down for those who have sent me numerous emails wondering what is going on.
Tuesday Leslie & I went to the doctor and were later admitted to the hospital around 11:30am when her fluid levels were a bit high and she was found to be near four centimeters dilated. We were given our private delivery room around 3:00pm and from there out things moved along smoothly. Pitosin around 4:30, broken water bag around 5:30, epidural around 6:30pm and baby at 11:47. Things seemed to move so quickly during this time. Suddenly it was 8:00, then 10:00. Next thing you knew, I was cutting the cord.
Leslie & I were discharged last night and Camryn has a doctor’s appointment this morning since her bilirubin levels were a little high and they just want to check her for jaundice. Other than that she is healthy as can be, and by far the prettiest baby on the face of the planet. I’m not a braggart father in the least…
Thanks to everyone who visited, called, emailed or even thought of us during this blessed event. We love you all, and Camryn sends her thanks as well.

P.S. Tons of photos to follow, I just have to weed through all 300+ of them!
seems like just yesterday
It seems like just yesterday doesn’t it? You know, it seems like just yesterday! Jumping on trampolines, riding a mongoose bike, sick and tired of fourth grade, or picking up the hose to take a drink. It seems like just yesterday that we were kids, and every year it sucks more and more to get older. I say this magical phrase a lot when thinking of the past and now I personally take a lot of time to reflect on ‘seems like just yesterday,’ with the upcoming birth of my first child. I honestly reflect on my own childhood and think to myself
How can I make my child’s childhood a memorable one?
Full of snow balls, pizza parties, sports, & loving family. Leslie & I won’t have any trouble in the loving family department that’s for sure. I just want to make sure my kids can say ‘seems like just yesterday’ and think of a great childhood memory. Because to me it seems like just yesterday I was at the trampoline park on Bonnabell Blvd & Veterans Hwy yelling at the guy to turn on the sprinklers.
It’s funny because I make decisions already based on how it will affect a child that is not even part of the outside world yet. Oh don’t get me wrong, it is a part of the outside world, just ask my swollen wife. But before he/she (yes we still don’t know the sex for the 1,001st time) even opens his/her eyes to the outside world, I am making steps for a memorable childhood that is not even my own.
My fatherhood…
one step closer…
to having the baby, Leslie’s mucous plug has fallen out! It could be a few days or even a week or so, but this is one tell tale sign that it is going to happen soon.
baby update
Leslie had a doctor’s appointment yesterday, she is apparently 1cm dilated and the baby is around 7lbs4oz. The doctor said it could be any day or it could be a few weeks. So we’re just hanging in there, hoping for few days
New Ultrasounds!
Leslie had a new set of Ultrasounds done today, at 32 weeks you can really see the baby’s features with the 3d ultrasound. Goto the Baby page to see them!
t-minus ten weeks
Leslie went to the doctor yesterday and everything is going as planned, looks like we only have 10 weeks to go until we find out if it is a boy or a girl!
