The Melancons stopped by before Easter Sunday and Allie & Camryn enjoyed themselves dying Easter eggs!
A friend has published a fantasy novel, and I would love to help her out by letting you all know about it. The book’s title is Martayvia: Guardians of the Stone, and if you are a fan of fantasy novels then I suggest you click here to read more about it and order your very own copy. From what I am hearing, if you are a fan of Harry Potter type novels then you will love this title. Order one, I already have! Look for a review to follow.
Congratulations to S.J. on your great accomplishment!
Got this from my buddy Marc…
Hey everyone. As most of you know, I play music in a cover band called Weathered. Last year, we were voted “BEST COVER BAND OF 2007″ by Where Y’at Magazine. We used this as a marketing tool to drive our band and it opened up a lot of doors for us.
I was wondering, if you guys and gals have some free time, if you could vote for us again for 2008. It shouldn’t take too long.
THE DEADLINE IS MAY 15th!!!
1) Go to: http://www.whereyat.com/
2) Click on the big colorful link that says “It’s that time again… THE 2008 BEST OF THE BIG EASY AWARDS, VOTE NOW!!”
3) Next you’ll see a link to “log in” or “register.” I assume no one has been to this site before, so just register. It’s free and easy.
4) Enter an e-mail address and a password… and click “REGISTER ME” (If you do this from work another box might open… just enter your email/username and password again).
5) Click the GO VOTE link!
6) Last step, just fill out the form. Here is the kicker!! You have to fill out about 50% of the form for it to be valid. THE MOST IMPORTANT ONE IS WHERE IT ASKS FOR “BEST COVER BAND” …PLEASE PUT WEATHERED
Hit Submit and your done.
Thanks to everyone!! If you can help us out that would be great.
The form is a bit long, but makes you think about what you really know about our great city. Help out Weathered and drum up some hunger for Drago’s Chargrilled Oysters while you are at it. At least I did…

Hey everyone!
I wanted to invite everyone next Saturday April 12th to Southport Hall! This is a very big show for us at a huge location with lot’s of room to breathe and hang out so if you want to come out for a few drinks it should be a great time.
We really need a lot of support b/c it is such a big place and it takes A LOT of people to fill Southport Hall up!!
Start time: approximately 10:30
Date: Saturday, April 12th
Place: Southport Hall (right down River Road from Ochsner Hospital next to Crane Rehab)
Cover: $5 – $7 (I’m not sure the exact amount yet)
Click the Weathered link under e.net supporters to the right, and I suggest you go check em out if you’re up for a good time. If you are unfamiliar, Southport hall is near the Jefferson & New Orleans Parish border on River Road.
Considering the weekend started with a low key Friday, just Leslie & I sitting around the house watching movies, this weekend was full of things to do and went by very fast. Saturday we started the day by running some errands which led us to a Honda dealership to take a look at getting a replacement for Leslie’s ’03 Civic. We went there with full intentions of just looking around and getting some information on some options for trade, but five hours later she drove off the lot in her new Honda Pilot. Even though we have not owned the thing for 72 hours yet, we both love the way it rides and the options it has. If I can just keep her parking legally at work we’ll be ok.
Saturday night was the Mount Carmel Spring Fling, which is a live and silent auction put on by Mount Carmel Academy. Every year this event is a lot of fun to attend, especially since there are a lot of restaurants that lend their talents and bring out a lot of food. There was many choices and a lot of good stuff to bid on, but we struck out in the silent auction trying to nab some things.
Sunday was Leslie’s baby shower, and while that was going on I had a few people over to watch some college basketball and have some BBQ. I did ribs on my grill for the second time and from what some of my friends were saying they didn’t come out half bad. A few of us went to the party to help transport all the gifts home and I know what I’ll be doing for the next few days (unboxing & putting together). Thanks to everyone that attended the shower, Leslie had a great time and we appreciate all of the presents.
As last night winded down, I became exhausted realizing what we had done this weekend. I think we’ve gotten to used to just sitting around and I worked on a few hours sleep…
To our good friends Laurie & Jeff on the birth of their little girl last night around 8:30 PM. Little Allie Louise was 4lbs 4oz and was 17.25″ long. Welcome to the world bean!
