Saints Win NFC Championship!

I still cannot believe that the Saints are headed to the Super Bowl. It was a great night inside the dome, and I’m so happy for the city of New Orleans and what this victory has done for all of us who live here. Maybe this will make our city stand together and put violence and hardship behind us, hopefully for just a while.

Being on the field last night was one of the most memorable experiences of my life and I’m so happy that I was able to take place is such an event. After Hartley’s field goal was good the dome turned into a place full of sensory overload, as people did not know where to look and what to do other than hug everyone around them as quite a few fans burst into tears. It was a great night and I’m looking forward to the Super Bowl.

Geaux Saints!!

LSU vs Alabama Evidence

I promise this is the last time I’m going to reference the LSU vs Alabama game.  Read this great post on Tiger Droppings.

Fantasy Football 2009

With the NFL season about 15 days away, it’s that time of year again for Fantasy Football.  We had our draft this past Monday and I didn’t do exceptionally great, but my team has the opportunity (like everyone else’s) to do well.  I ended up with the final pick in each round which alloted me two picks at once.  This would be the theme every round, with me lining up two picks and trying to field a team.  Here’s my lineup after the draft.

Matt Ryan
Brett Favre
Thomas Jones
Brandon Jacobs
Le`Ron McClain
Andre Johnson
Bernard Berrian
Chris Chambers
Michael Jenkins
Jeremy Maclin
Dallas Clark
Rob Bironas
Green Bay D/ST

Farve was a final pick, just in case…

Wish me luck!

The Year of the Celebrity Funeral

The year 2009 has not been kind to celebrities, almost as if it is real life Celebrity Final Destination.  I really did not want to make a post about this since we’re all getting information overload from all the different services we subscribe to between Newspaper, Facebook, Twitter & Television.  We’ve lost a long list of famous people so far these seven months, and it seems that it has struck harder this year than in recent years that I can remember.  But I’m really over all of this Michael Jackson nonsense.  It’s horrible that documentaries which spoke about all the great things Walter Cronkite covered during his notorious news career are interrupted by updates to the Michael Jackson ‘story’.  I get it, the guy was probably one of the more influential musicians of our time.  But I do not see the reasoning behind people committing suicide & the world coming to an abrupt hault because he is gone.  I guess I just do not need Michael Jackson in my life to continue on, if you do then I really feel sorry for you.

Here is the short list of Celebrity Deaths so far in 2009 (in alphabetical order to avoid favoritism comments)

Bea Arthur (Actress – Golden Girls)
David Carradine (Actor)
Marilyn Chambers (Adult Actress)
Walter Cronkite
Chuck Daly (NBA Coach)
Dom DeLuise (Actor)
Farrah Fawcett
Arturo Gatti (Boxer)
Gidget (The Taco Bell Dog)
Michael Jackson
Les Lye (You Can’t Do That on Television Actor… I hearrrrd that…)
Billy Mays (TV ‘Pitchman’)
Ed McMahon (Tonight Show Announcer)
Steve McNair (NFL Quarterback)
Ricardo Montalban
Ron Silver (Actor – Timecop)
Gale Storm (TV Sitcom Actress)

If I were a Celebrity I’d go get a physical, lock myself in my mansion and not come out until 2010…

2009 Movies

Leslie & I used to go to a lot of movies, but lately that is just not the case anymore.  But maybe 2009 will bring about a change, because I know that I am personally looking forward to a lot of the 2009 Movie releases.

In no particular order, here are just a few that I am sure I’ll catch either in the theater or on DVD shortly after released if I happen to miss them in theaters.

These are all IMDB (internet Movie Database) links so you can view trailers, pictures whatever you want.

Agree or disagree with any of these?  You’re entitled to your opinion… let me know if I forgot any you think are going to be blockbusters in 2009!
