I’ve put off downloading FF3 until I read enough reviews about the addons and browsing capability and I must say I enjoy the new browser. I was always drawn to Firefox because of its great pop-up blocking and malware blocking capabilities, but now I’m drawn to their addons. I used the browser back when they had Mozilla and I personally think that it is the better alternative to web browsing today, although I cannot speak for most of the Apple web broswers since I am not a Macintosh user.
One of my favorite plugins thus far is definitely PicLens. This addon allows you to view pictures on a website, or through a web search in a full screen viewer with sliding navigation comparable to the apple iPhone. I’m currently working on getting this blog PicLens ‘aware’ (upgrading my PHP version ‘ugh’) so if you are using it you can view all content with the addon.
You can also import your Internet Explorer favorites into Mozilla very easily. File-Import-Choose IE Favorites (while in Firefox).
I must say that some content is not viewable without a little ‘tweaking’, but do not toss in the towel too soon!
To download the latest version of Firefox click here. Please do not attempt this on a work computer since I do not know your company policy on installing/applying software/updates. Take the change if you are sick of IE!
