Hurricane Ike
Hit me again Ike, and this time put some stank on it!
You would think that this thing was making landfall at the Lakefront airport the way the weather is going around here today. The wind started picking up last night as Ike made its way across the Gulf of Mexico for a close encounter with the Texas coastline. I’m really glad this one jogged on by, cause the last thing anyone wanted to do was evacuate or pull all nighters at work again. Currently Jefferson Parish is under a tornado warning, and really the entire southeastern Louisiana coastline is under tornado watch for that matter. I’m just hoping that my tree in the backyard lost whatever branches it wanted to during Gustav and I won’t have to pick up more debris (sigh!). I hope everyone in the path of this storm has prepared wisely and makes it through ok!
I watched the tree in the backyard sway to and fro as the rain could not make up its mind if it wanted to fall straight down, side to side or seemingly swirl this morning as I was diligently trying to put out my garbage cans. Which was hilarity at its finest as the largest of the three cans (yes we do go through some garbage but I only have to do this once a week) was the only one to topple over as Brody watched me through the fence with a smirk on his snout. If he had his own blog I’m sure he’d write something about his owner chasing paper boxes across the street in tropical force winds as he sat and watched with enjoyment.
Then again, who is more foolish? The fool, or the fool that follows him?
